Today is…Wednesday Dec 1 2010

I set the alarm for 5:30am to work on my writing. Alone. Without any boys.

Giant woke up at 5:20am and announced it was awake time.

So I started the morning with writing and a snuggly boy.

After daddy had left for work, Giant pulled out a booklet of construction paper and ripped it in half. He gave one part to Ettin and kept one for himself, proclaiming they were writing stories. Which they later read to Galoot:

Despite my actually being prepared for the day, we got out to gym late because I felt I should be looking into plane flights right before we were due to leave.

But we got there, and had a bunch of fun.

When we got home, the boys didn’t want to come inside.

Who could blame them? It was beautiful outside!

I brought them a snack to eat out on the front steps, and enjoyed the welcome rays of warm sunshine while Galoot snoozed in my bed:

This is the craft I had planned to make today:

We didn’t make it.

Instead, I figured out plane fares and flights and tickets and schedules and such (though not very well, I still managed to book our visit for the first week Hubby was supposed to start a robotics class. Sorry! ).

Thus, my boys played with minimal attention. And minimal cleanup:

But thankfully, minimal contention too. It was really quite nice.

Giant was very proud of his “bakery” :

I’m not entirely sure why it is a bakery, but he did get an impressive number of those Bloks to fit in the board.

The other activity for the day (since mommy had checked out), was watching the trucks dump great big loads of snow in the empty lot next to our house:

Finally, just before daddy got home, we looked at our Message.

Why? Because I had had it written out last night. I was prepared darn it! And I wasn’t gonna let that go to waste 🙂
