Antibiotics are kicking in…Momma is back in the game…
The boys were looking at a math book, in a section which looked at comparison/measurement/ratio/graphs/proportion/and perspective. Neat, eh?
The book talked about analyzing the amounts of water in different containers:
And then talked about how to measure which container would be sweetest if sugar was added to them:
Giant was pretty sure we should try this one out ourselves.
So we did!
We filled up some containers with water.
And sugar.
Giant hypothesized that the largest cup would be the sweetest.
He tested his hypothesis:
So did Ettin:
And we discovered that the littlest container of water tasted the sweetest.
Ettin didn’t want to stop drinking.
Then the boys played with a cute board game, where their pieces have to help each other over obstacles in a haunted wood:
They helped me make muffins (the carrot /nut ones that taste a lot like pumpkin pie):
And they both worked on recipes.
Ettin drew pictures.
Giant wrote the ingredients. And drew some pictures too:
Cuarit nut mufins /carrot nut muffins
1 flawr/flour
2 shugr/sugar
3 bakGiGn POWdr/baking powder
4 solt/salt
5 egg/egg
6 carits/carrots
7 nuts/nuts
8 milc/milk
[of note, we talked about spaces between words. He did this, and then thought it would be even better if he put lines between the words to show that they were different words 🙂  ]
We had a nursing/reading break:
With careful precautions against mommy pain:
After lunch we went outside for a bit…
We found a little bit of spring:
Went Speedbiking.
Cleaned up some leaves.
And fed Galoot some snow:
Cold. Tasteless. And little gritty. He did not approve:
After boys were napping (rather later than usual) Giant helped me with dishes and then played in the water and bubbles for a while:
We now have a container of bubbles [soapy water] sitting in our fridge to “keep cold.”
Then Giant wanted to type my name:
Which he did! [Observe, please, the space between the words!):
Of note, there are no easy to find preschool typing games. And looking only makes a happily typing boy lose all interest in typing and want to play computer games.
Lesson learned.
