Today is…Tue, 1 March 2011
We woke up this morning to Pa digging us out of the foot of snow covering our beds,
Oh, wait. Laura Ingalls moment (By The Shores Of The Silver Lake).
Despite the snow and cold, we got ready for the day.
I gave a scripture lesson about how the Lord will take care of our needs—we read the account of how Jesus fed the 5000.
Giant cut his banana into loaves.
After borrowing the car from daddy, we went to Gymnastics and the Library.
Consequently, we brought home a large haul of very fun books:
Giant spent a good part of the afternoon just reading with me.
Then, since he seemed so very interested by the anatomy book I’d found, I traced Giant and Ettin and let them fill in the resulting body outlines.
Ettin filled in a very detailed face, with eyes and noses and mouths.
Giant drew some bones, facial features, and the lines for energy to flow through the body. A little new age, but since I think he was trying to convey blood and veins I didn’t bother to correct him. And hey, who knows—perhaps he was smack on track with the flow of energy through the body…
I hung the little monkeys from the tree.
And bribed the boys gave the boys an incentive to clean up the mess in under a minute (something which would have taken them…forever, otherwise):
…they had it cleaned in 40 seconds. Hm.
Then we looked at our message and talked about what we can learn from books:
I also caught a couple of very cute smiles:
Love these guys!!!
