Giant’s swim trunks have ties. He wants to tie them in bows, but cannot. This has perpetuated some great learning time! We practice tying bows with anything we can find, and we found a cute book from the library:

Gospel lesson!

More geography.

Sheesh, where do these kids get this love for geography from?!

Then on to the pool. Wheeeeee!!

When we got home, I showed the boys my little friend who’d moved in under our porch:

Can you see him? Orange, Yellow, Black, and completely harmless I was happy to learn:

Oh, I love how these brothers play so well together!

After little ones were napping, we built ROBOTS!

We build a bot that could fully rotate with a sensor:

We chose a sound sensor, and had a lot of fun with that!

We made our robot spin faster with louder noises:

We even had him dancing to some music!

Then Galoot woke up.

Hello Galoot 🙂 Goodbye Robot 😉

Please can we play piano!!!?

We did sneak in some scripture study:

The boys kept warm before swimming:

Giant was great at practicing his glides:

We stopped at the library on the way home, and snacked on some bananas:

Cute little monkeys!

Home, we brought out some of the fun games we’d bought at Texas:

And in the afternoon Giant looked at maps:

While Ettin practiced his sounds:

Oh, and they both settled in to learn sign language:

Today is Monday…August 22 2011

Enticed by a game of “What Time is it Mr. Shark?”, Ettin left my side!

The boys practiced floats:

Sticking their faces in the water (Good job Beanie!!!)

Playing:

Oh, and the sweet little siblings?

Waiting patiently with the momma’s:

It was a little windy on the walk home:

(I LOVE her hair!!!)

But the boys didn’t seem to mind.

What wonderful friends!:

Today is…Friday August 19, 2011

Gospel Message (fallback method: I pick a verse from the chapter of Proverbs that matches the day of the month. Today we looked at Proverbs 19):

More swimming. More hand holding.

This time the boys got to go in the deep pool.

Ettin stayed by the edge with me:

Giant jumped…with help:

So did their friend:

Poor Ettin was frozen when we got out (oh, how I’d love an indoor pool!!!):

We got home and the boys played hard in the yard:

Multi-tasking Galoot

Yes, he drinks and eats at the same time. Can’t you?
