Tuesday’s learning focused on socialization. You know, that thing that homeschooled children don’t get? We played all morning with friends, and all afternoon with cousins. Wheeeewww!
And Ettin discovered Dirt Biking in my freshly rototilled garden 😉 :

Monday was the best day EVER!!!
Okay, maybe not “EVER”—bringing babies home is sure wonderful.
But it was quite enjoyable.
Hubby spent the day working on his computer projects.
I spent the day working on my gardening projects.
The boys were always close by and not being ignored by either one of us—we actually had a good time with them too!
(Admittedly, the house was severely neglected. But we were all very happy. Go figure!)
When and how can we make this happen every day?!!! Gotta figure out some sort of work at home job for my hubby…
And now, a picture from my cleaned out Strawberries:

Just waiting to sprout out their berry goodness 🙂

About 5:30am, my Hubby pops his head into the bedroom and asks, “Are you going to do Easter stuff today?—The boys aren’t awake. Yet.”
I groggily debated whether Easter egg hunting would be just as fun next week.
My mother’s voice told me no 😉
So I found all the goodies sent from Grandma and Grandpa to us via the Easter Bunny, wrapped them up, and had a lot of fun (even that early in the morning) hiding eggs and presents everywhere.
Ettin woke up first around 7:30am. (Why did I get up so early?!) He was in awe of all the candy, and wasn’t sure what to do first: get eggs, eat eggs, or open eggs.
We then woke up Giant, who took the lead and got Ettin organized. They took their time finding eggs, especially when their goodies included such delights as bob the builder duplo:

…and outdoor toys!

Breakfast was ready when the boys were finished their hunt: Big Dutch Babies!

And I got to use my new Easter present: Bunny, Flower, and Egg stencils (yes, I should have cut the squares a bit bigger—but I think they still looked cute)
We went over to a friends to play later in the morning:

Today was…busy.
We had two cute friends over to play while their parents packed up a house.
The boys made some excellent vehicles and drove around:

Galoot tried ceaselessly to pull out some very cute pigtails.
He did manage to get one while she was immobile during a diaper change (I’m sooo sorry sweet girl!)

Giant took it upon himself to do some learning while mommy was taking care of kids. He read them stories, coloured in colouring books, played, and found textures:

Then we had cousins over at lunch time and played with them for a bit too. Sooo much fun!
Eventually we got to go outside and play while daddy watched babies inside (which meant mommy got to putter around in the garden too—almost all the snow is gone from it 😉 )
I suspect we might be busy tomorrow too!

Upstairs in our sunny window…
Cherry tomatoes replanted into large buckets:

…starting to form flowers!

Giant’s carrots in his mini garden are starting to pop up:

Outside, under the snow….
Strawberries are greener and bigger each time the snow melts:

Multiplier onions (not sure how to actually use these, but they look cool!):

Chives, hardy and thriving:

Oregano? Whatever it is, it make a lovely small round bush covered in purple flowers (and bees 🙂 )—I’m thinking of dividing it and using it as decoration in my front beds!

Rhubarb (I dug it out of the snow to take pictures):

Irises? New sprouts are starting to push up:

A silvery green foliage with with flowers that has stood up to much wear (like being a parking lot for our no longer second vehicle)

A hardy little scrappy looking bush that I cannot remember the name of…but it is one of the first plants to flower in the spring and brings me much joy:

Something I’ve decided is Yarrow (smells…medicinal), and will no longer be trying to eradicate from the front yard tree bed:

Hollyhock. Its actually on our neighbour’s side of the pines. After our trip to Beanie’s new home, I noticed they had lots of old hollyhocks with their old seed pods just waiting on the stalks. I grabbed a few handfuls and the boys and I scuffed them into the dirt along that border between our neighbours and the trees. I’m not sure what colours they’ll be, or if they’ll even grow…but anything would look prettier than bare pine bark and the stumpy branches on that side:

Downstairs…
Brassicas are getting bigger:

Peppers (behind the tomatoes):

My new roma sprouts getting true leaves. And their bigger transplanted brothers are behind them:

Pak Choi:

Calendula is sprouting:

And that asparagus:

Oh, and I also noticed some green/white buds on a piece of ginger I’d bought a long time ago. I think I’ll try planting it to see if I can get a cute house plant out of it:
