Brownie Fail
This is a brownie fail.
I’m not sure what drives me to make brownies. In part, I think to myself—what easy yummy treat could I make in a large batch? The answer is always Brownies! And the result is usually…
Fried chocolate.
Are brownies supposed to be sizzling when they come out of the oven? Bubbling greasy oil? Encased in a rock hard chocolatey candy coating?
Because (munch munch munch slurp) this is horrible!
Okay, this mess is actually quite tasty, but not the brownies I was hoping for. Perhaps—and this is a long shot—-but just maybe it was because I didn’t mix things in the proper order. Or keep track of how many cups of sugar I used. Or possibly its because my oven sits at a near 45 degree angle (okay, okay, my kitchen is sloped, its not the oven’s fault).
When telling him of my brownie woes, my Hubby gallantly offered to make some Brownies.
I asked him if he knew how. He replied that he didn’t, but that he could follow a recipe.
I’m not sure of the implications of that statement.
But I’m pretty sure it means I shouldn’t start my own cooking blog anytime soon.
(notice how I fixed the brownies? Flipped them upside down and threw away the burned/rock-hard bits! Tahdah!!!
My boys are so spoiled.)
Mom says:
Seriously, use a mix. They cost $1.00. I will bring you some. Much less fuss, and guaranteed faults!
CayleenRae says:
hmmmmm. Sounds much easier!
