Happy Valentines Day!

We started our day with some loved-up oatmeal:

Ettin and Giant made Valentines Cookies with me on Sunday, and then decorated cards for their friends this morning. They passed them out to kids we play with at the Gym:

Lunch was soup and heart biscuits:

Schoolwork was heart addition:

And writing names of people we love on great big hearts…

…which we used to decorate our tree:

Then, to my boys utter delight, Daddy brought home a package from Grandma:

Daddy then took boys out on their speed bikes (we can see the sidewalks this week, weird eh? Don’t worry, the snow will be back soon) while mommy wrapped and arranged presents:

So pretty!

The boys wanted to wear their Valentines outfits from Grandma right away:

Then we all enjoyed opening so many gifts: adorable matching Sunday outfits, Tomato plants for Mommy, Stickers and Goodies Galore!

Woweee Grandma, You Are The BEST!!!

Supper was pink apple juice and heart burgers:

And dessert was served in Mommy’s other Valentines Gift (clear glass cups), Chocolate Cake baked right in the cup and icecream on top:

Galoot was a little disappointed he was only getting plain yogurt, and not ice cream like the rest of us.

What a sweet day!!!

Happy Valentines Day!

From my Prince Charming….

…in training.

Today is…Thursday Feb 10 2011

We started our day with a spiritual lesson.

Yay Us!!

We talked about how we need to put Christ first in our lives, even before fun books, money, ipads or cookies:

Then we played with sorted and classified coins:

As luck would have it, our daddy bear was sick today.

Which sucks for him.

But it also meant that we had a car!

So off to Stay ‘n Play we went, where the boys played with the sand table and puzzles, and had a snack of heart cookies with self applied icing (oh yeah, Valentines day is Monday!!!)

After naps, we made a felt background with some nifty shapes.

Oh, and while I’m dabbling in a homeschool post, I thought I’d share this excellent article written by an 8th grade homeschooler. Enjoy!

My little Airbender

Ettin was happily chattering to me about something. When he started repeating the same thing over and over, I tuned in…

Ettin (jump, jump): ” ‘ike ang, mommy, ike ang”

Mommy: “?”

Ettin (jump, jump): “ike ang, mommy…giggle”

Mommy: “ike ang”…Oh, are you Aang?” (Aang is the Avatar from Avatar: The Last Airbender , a tv series we may be enjoying a little too much of lately)

Ettin (jump, jump) “Yup. Aang. Up in da sky!” (laughs, and continues to jump with great purpose):

Just so long as you come back down to me, little Airbender.

Today is…Wednesday Feb 9 2011

I felt a little better today.

We made it to the gym.

At home, Giant taught his little brothers some gymnastics stretches:

We reviewed some piano lessons.

Then, when I asked Giant what he wanted to learn about, he said he wanted to write numbers.

So, I got out the blocks and we practiced drawing numerals for our towers of tens and ones:

I have such wonderful boys!

Giant didn’t even mind when I went to rest on the couch for a bit while he played with daddy’s ipad (somebody put some games on there). Isn’t he a sweetheart?
