Dreaming

Outside the world is covered in snow.

Inside I’m reduced to gardening with popsicle sticks and pipe cleaners:

Can you see the greens?

What is it you ask?! Why, a raised bed with row cover pvc support pipes. A light fabric row cover or plastic sheet can rest on top, and for the winter I can add another set of supports on the outside and cover the fabric with plastic, thus giving me two degrees of protection.

I think.

Worth dreaming about, anyway… 😉

Ettin’s Nest

The more books/toys/blankies the better.

Today is…Tuesday Jan 11 2011

Gymnastics today!!!

I had to chuckle when Giant and his buddies were doing exercises on the bars. One exercise had them grab hold of the bar, point their toes, and swing back and forth. Unfortunately for my Giant, as soon as he pointed his toes there was no swinging…simply my Giant standing on tiptoe under the bar :))

After lunch we made dinosaur eggs.

Ettin meticulously dotted his egg with the teensiest of paint on his finger tip, and asked me to wash his hands whenever paint got a bit out of control:

Giant smeared and splattered and mixed and mashed the paint everywhere, decorating his eggs with complete body parts:

I think they all turned out quite good:

(I am in the tropics, I am in the tropics, I am in the tropics, …)

Studious Ettin

Today Giant and I worked on a Thank You note to a wonderful lady who mailed his glasses to us while we were visiting my family in Texas. He wrote on the front of the paper, I wrote on the back, and by the time I was finished Ettin was begging me to write ‘ank ‘oos too. So I gave him the paper and he proceeded to carefully and attentively draw tiny little scripts all over the empty spaces:

“Momma, why you always gotta be takin’ pictures of me, huh?”

Galoot’s New Toy

Galoot got a new toy today.

Its a cute little play mat for Galoot to roll around on.

My friend had an extra and thought Galoot might like it.

I think he might too…

…if he ever gets a turn with it!

It kept Giant and Ettin busy all afternoon.

(don’t worry Galoot, you’ll get your turn. I think.)
