Grocery Budget: July

We budget $180 a month for fresh groceries, and $100 for storage items or things that we’d take a while to go through.

Thats about $45 a week on fresh food. I try to spend the $100 early in the month, all in one go, so that it doesn’t get whittled away by budget emergencies or impulse buys.

What do we spend our money on each month? I thought we’d find out  🙂

Yes it is an odd month. My mom will be visiting, we’ll have a new baby and no energy for food prep, possibly some meals brought over by friends. But honestly, every month could be defined as a weird month—there is very little room for perfection in this chaotic life of mine 😉 So, this is a typical weird month’s budget, itemized:

TOTAL: 27.95+17.43 +10.84 +38.30 +21.26 +9.91+34.37+20.9+23.16=204.12 On Groceries. Not bad! About $25 over, which could be attributed to buying storage items with grocery money (about 20 dollars worth). Also, the fridge is full, so this food will carry over to next month as well.
